Frequently Asked Questions

I'm an absolute beginner is this ok for me?

Absolutely, all of the tuition books assume that you know nothing and start right from the beginning. If you happen to know more, you can simply read past what you already know.

I'm 60+. Am I too old?

I used to think I was too old when I was 20. Now that I'm 66 it worries me less. You're never too old to learn piano or keyboard. In fact learning something new is good for your marbles!

What sort of keyboards is it for?

Piano, electronic keyboard or organ.

Is this just the start of some long ongoing money extracting process that's going to cost me a fortune?

NO. But as you progress, you will probably want to buy more advanced books from elsewhere, but my books will take you well along the road.

Compared to most hobbies and pass time activities, learning music is very low cost even when taking into account the cost of a decent keyboard.

What’s the difference between the piano / keyboard books that you are offering and which one is best for me?

‘Learn in a Week’ is probably the most complete book, but if you don’t want to learn music then ‘Learn By Ear’ is also very complete in itself  and moreso for Bluesy type styles.

Both ‘Absolute Beginner’ and ‘Learn with Filo & Pastry’ don’t go as far as the others but are more ‘spoon fed’

If however you just wan t to learn about scales and / or chords then I have low cost guides to suit your needs

If I don't understand something can I contact you?

Yes. The information has been written by me the seller and I will be happy to answer your questions by email. In fact the guide has evolved as a result of people contacting me.
