Acoustic Pianos

I would never discourage anyone from buying a real acoustic piano if this is what they want. These are of course ideal for learning both classical and jazz.

But the downside with these is that they are:

  • Expensive to buy
  • Space greedy
  • Need periodic tuning
  • Heavy and difficult to move around
  • Unsuitable for silent practice

Unfortunately I am unable to offer any further advice on buying these. My suggestion is to seek advice from a local dealer and compare qualities and prices.

But please also look at the digital piano alternatives - they are far better than they’ve been in the past and you might just be surprised.
